Benjamin B. Gehrmann, 61 of Warsaw and formerly of Mill Creek, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus Saturday, May 7, 2022. He was born June 5, 1960 in LaPorte the son of Bernhard and Pauline (Joseph) Gehrmann. Ben graduated from Michigan City Rogers High School in 1978 and then the American Academy of Art. He worked for various companies over the years as a healthcare administrator and was an avid artist. Ben was a member of Bethel Chapel in LaPorte and Living Hope Ministries in Warsaw. He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, bird watching, and gardening. Ben was a loving son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
On April 10, 1982, Ben married Margaret “Peggy” Owen who survives along with his mother, Pauline Gehrmann; children, Rachel (Matt) Rhodes, Rebecca Masse, Eddie (Savannah) Gehrmann, China Miller, and Koah Gehrmann; grandchildren, Mason, Eva, and Brant Rhodes, Taylor, Isabella, Channing, and Maggie Jean Masse, Aria and Caroline Gehrmann, and Josiah Miller and Carson Anderson; brother, Luke Gehrmann; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Mary Owen; step-mother, Ada Gehrmann; and many extended loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernhard.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 13th at 3:00 PM at the First Church of God 2020 E. Lincolnway, LaPorte 46350. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family in care of Rachel Rhodes.
