David Paul Myers, 79 of Valparaiso, IN passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He was born March 21, 1943 in Gary, IN to Sarah Myers. David graduated from Logansport High School in 1961, and then proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. He began his career working on the assembly line with Chrysler, before becoming a woodworker in Arizona. David then transitioned to become a self-employed truck driver, which he did until his retirement. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 21 in Westville, IN for over 24 years. David enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and meticulously taking care of his lawn and flowers. David prided himself in maintaining a perfect yard, which brought him joy. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and ability to make others laugh.
David is survived by his daughter, Christine Beaman-Myers of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Victoria Beaman; former wife, Ingeborg Fasnacht; and sisters: Connie Boren of Valparaiso, IN and Melanie (Terry) Wesley of Thornhill, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah (Myers) Pierce, and son, David Joseph Myers.
Per David’s wishes, following cremation, no services will be held.
