Joseph Thomas Genender, 32 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022. He was born June 19, 1989 in Harvey, Illinois to Marc and Pamela (Myers) Genender. Joe made his career as a Bricklayer Apprentice with the Bricklayer’s Union. He enjoyed playing video games and watching movies featuring superheroes. Joe’s priority in life was his family, especially his beloved daughters. He will be remembered as a tender-hearted and loving man, with an easy-going personality, and compassionate nature. Joe will be lovingly remembered, and deeply missed every day, but his legacy lives on in the lives he touched while he was here.
Joseph is survived by his daughters: Ariah and Nova, both of Valparaiso; mother, Pamela Genender of Valparaiso; father, Marc Genender of Dyer; siblings: Stephanie Genender and Jeffery Genender, both of Valparaiso; nephew, Milo Owens; mother of his children, Hailey Krueger, and her mother, Vicki Krueger; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Janet “Grammy” Myers and Marco Rinni.
Following cremation, a private celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to be put towards the care of Joe’s daughters.
