Laurie Kathleen Hallberg, 59, of Syracuse, Indiana formerly of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 26, 2022. She was born October 18, 1962 to Frank & Audrey (Leonard) Hartman and graduated from Valparaiso High School in1981. Laurie’s primary focus was always her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens, stalking all of the birds in her realm, cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts, and taking legendary photographs. Family gathering were always at the heart of the Hartman family. Laurie cherished every holiday get-together and being at the core of this close-knit clan.
On June 11, 1983 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso she married Thomas “Tom” Hallberg who survives along with their children; Jennifer Hallberg (Josh Armstrong) of Indianapolis, Daniel Hallberg (Sarah) of Oregon City, Oregon, Michael Hallberg (Angela Taylor) of Indianapolis, siblings; Nancy Corcoran (Bob), Tom Hartman (Debra), Janet Arnold, sister-in-law, Kathy Hartman, brother-in-law, Brian Hoeppner, grandchildren, Esther & Vivienne Hallberg and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Hartman and sister, Terrie Hoeppner.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 4th at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso from 10 am – 2 pm with memorial service beginning at 2:00 pm.
