Linda Anne (Heaster) Robb
January 22, 1959 – June 5, 2022
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Robb on June 5th, 2022. Linda passed in her home in Kouts, Indiana, surrounded and loved by her closest family until the end. Linda stubbornly fought her battle against pancreatic cancer until the very last day, the way her friends and family knew she would.
Linda is survived by her husband Timothy Robb; parents Calvin and Karlene Heaster; Daughters Jennifer Robb (Erik Steffen), Sarah Taylor (Ryan) and Kristin Robb; Sisters Brenda Heaster (Keith Ritter) and Cindy O’Bryan; Grandchildren Henry, Evelyn, Graham, Norah, Turner and Rosalyn; and Cousins Brian (Tina) Porter; Lori Timm; Jamie Bauer; Karl Bauer; and Torrie (Jackie) Bauer. She was preceded in death by Grandparents Lloyd and Mary Heaster, Karl and Frances Bauer; her Aunt, Thelma Jean Porter; her Uncles Jimmy and Roland Bauer; and her Cousin Harlo W. Porter II.
Linda was born in Arlington, Virginia in 1959 where her father, Calvin, was Active Duty Army. Upon discharge, Cal and Karlene moved back to Valparaiso to raise their family, where Linda would graduate from Valparaiso High School in 1977. She worked at the old Dairy Isle on Calumet Avenue where she would eventually meet husband Tim Robb. The two were married at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Valparaiso on May 17th, 1980.
Linda was a mother to three amazing daughters, Jennifer, Sarah, and Kristin, of whom she was so proud. All three became distinguished in their respective fields, holding multiple advanced degrees, and all serving in the Armed Forces for notable careers. Linda was more than a rock to her daughters. She was their lighthouse. Reliable, strong, always there, and guiding them dutifully from near and afar.
Linda’s favorite place was in her garden among her hostas and lilies and hummingbirds. She tended them with care, love, and stubbornness, the same way she tended and grew her family. She shared her beautiful flowers with her family freely, all of which continue to grow in gardens from Michigan to Ohio and beyond.
In addition to raising three successful children, Linda held a full career in Real Estate, and will be missed dearly by her coworkers who knew her so well and valued her expertise for many years.
Finally, Linda earned the beloved title of “Nena”, the name given to her by her six grandchildren. Linda was as wonderful a grandmother as she was a mother and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was blessed to be a part of all their lives in very significant ways and was able to impress upon even the very youngest her love and positive energy.
A private family memorial will be held for Linda. To honor Linda, please contribute to the VNA Hospice, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and then go enjoy a cold beverage outside on your deck.
